Long Beach is a name that can hide two very different afternoons. Near town, a coffee, a meal and a beach bar fit into the streets around Trần Hưng Đạo. Farther south, the coast opens into larger resort grounds, destination restaurants and long views of the sunset. Our original Bãi Trường article is strongest on that contrast: the same western light, a different pace on the ground.

In conversation, however, people may mean the older hotel-and-restaurant strip around Trần Hưng Đạo or the larger resort district farther south. Our original article makes that distinction through Sunset Sanato, Phu Quoc Marina and the major resort grounds. An area name is therefore only the first part of the address. For planning, choose the cluster that contains your meal, beach venue or hotel. Bãi Dài belongs to the northwest and a different group of excursions. Keeping the two names clear prevents a northern resort search from taking over a town-side sunset plan.

From a street-based holiday to a resort afternoon
The northern section is useful when you want to move between a café, a meal and the town without making every stop a separate excursion.
The southern section asks for a different rhythm: arrive at one place, enjoy the setting and let the afternoon unfold there. This is the distinction behind many apparently contradictory descriptions of Long Beach as both lively and quiet. The original reporting also notices the coast’s changes in weather and light. On a clear late afternoon, the western horizon becomes the main attraction; on a windy day, a sea-view table can be the better reason to come. Choose the experience on the shore as carefully as the stretch of sand.
A named afternoon at Sailing Club
Sailing Club Phu Quoc lists Lot B7, Bãi Trường Complex in Phu Quoc Marina, with daily opening hours of 06:30–22:00 on its official site, reviewed on 18 October 2026.
It is a useful named choice for a beach-club afternoon followed by dinner. The surrounding Marina district includes the InterContinental’s Dương Bào location, which helps place this in the southern corridor. Dining and a pool afternoon are different purchases: a table reservation does not settle pool or lounger terms. Decide which experience you want when making the reservation. That one practical distinction is more useful than arriving with an old general claim that every drink includes every facility.
The west-facing light is the common thread
The coast’s strongest shared feature is its western outlook.
Give the late afternoon some breathing room: arrive before the sky becomes the main event, order while it is still light and settle into the view. The dry-season months often suit this style of visit, while the wetter part of the year can bring wind and rougher water to the west. A calendar month is not a swimming assessment. A well-chosen coastal meal can keep the outing worthwhile even when the beach mood changes.
Coffee, coast, dinner: keep it in one cluster
For a town-side afternoon, begin around Trần Hưng Đạo with a café or late lunch, then continue to your chosen coastal venue for the last light.
For a southern afternoon, travel directly to Marina or the resort restaurant, stay for sunset and eat nearby afterwards. Both plans are better than bouncing between the northern and southern sections for individual photographs. Sunset Sanato, named in the original article for its sculptural seaside setting, is another distinct destination rather than a shortcut to every part of the beach. Choose one main place and let the small pleasures fill the time: a walk, a drink, the change in colour over the water.
When to choose Ông Lang or the south instead
Ông Lang suits a smaller-lane coastal meal north of town.
Sunset Town is the southern choice when architecture, Kiss Bridge and a show are central to the evening. Bãi Trường is strongest when the beach-facing venue itself is the point. Keep those intentions clear and there is no need to compare every sunset spot as though they offer the same day. If choosing a hotel rather than an afternoon, move to the stay guide: exact access to meals and transport matters more than the broad coastal label. A good visit here can be simple precisely because the location and the reason to be there are already settled.
Plan the arrival around the venue
Give the driver the venue rather than only “Long Beach”.
A hotel on Trần Hưng Đạo and a restaurant in Phu Quoc Marina are different arrivals. When the plan is an afternoon at one coastal business, use its land entrance and return from the same recognisable point. It avoids the awkward assumption that the whole coast is one uninterrupted pedestrian promenade. If you are staying in the southern resort cluster, dinner nearby can be more appealing than returning to Dương Đông by habit. Conversely, a town hotel makes the northern section convenient for a shorter outing. Geography should make the day easier, not force a long transfer simply because two places share the Bãi Trường name.
