A visit to the chosen shoreline
Come to Cua Can for the river-mouth landscape and village coast.
Beach guide · West coast
Cua Can is interesting before anyone unfolds a beach towel. The river brings another shape to the coast: boats, banks and the opening towards the sea. Our original reporting treats that meeting as the reason to stop. Give the river-mouth view and village their own time, then choose a separate dining or river activity if you want a longer outing.
Come to Cua Can for the river-mouth landscape and village coast. A river launch, the settlement and a coastal resort such as Green Bay are different destinations. Choose a land-based view and meal, or arrange a river outing as the main activity; do not treat the mouth as an automatic swimming or paddling route out to sea.
Vietnam Tourism identifies kayaking on Cua Can river, but does not give a current public launch or tariff. This beach guide does not sell or specify an independent river-to-sea route.

What it really feels like
The original Vietnamese beach roundup notices the place where Cua Can river meets the sea and links it to nearby village life.
That gives this coast a different purpose from a resort-sand afternoon. Look at the river channel, the boats and the line of the coast together. A landscape photograph becomes more interesting when you can understand how people move between village and water. You can enjoy that relationship from a suitable land stop without adding a swim. Cua Can is therefore worth choosing for the meeting of river and sea, rather than presenting it as a quieter copy of every other western beach.
Start by choosing what you are travelling for. A village stop belongs to the settlement; a river trip needs the receiving launch supplied by its organiser; a Green Bay meal uses the resort entrance. These can share a Cua Can address while still requiring a drive between them. Save the actual destination before leaving your accommodation. If you are mainly curious about the river mouth, a short daylight landscape visit is a clearer plan than arriving with swimwear and hoping every service will be beside the car. Keep the same driver or a return appointment when the outing extends beyond the central visitor strip.
Vietnam Tourism identifies kayaking on Cua Can river among the island’s nature activities. It does not publish a current launch, rental price or independent route. If that is the purpose of your visit, obtain the organiser’s meeting point and return arrangement first. Ask for the complete activity—equipment, a suitable life jacket, guide or supervision, duration and group total—rather than comparing only a board photograph or an hourly headline. Keep the plan on the route actually offered. A river scene is not permission to cross the mouth into open sea, and the river photograph in this guide is not relabelled as an exact sandy swimming beach.
A sandy edge can look inviting while the channel is still a route for boats and moving water. Keep the river mouth as a landscape stop unless a designated bathing area and current local directions make swimming appropriate. Do not turn the narrow-looking distance to another bank into a swimming challenge. The shore can still supply a good part of the day through a village walk, photographs from land and the view of water opening out. That is a more faithful use of Cua Can than promising a conventional swimming-beach afternoon just because sand is visible in the frame.
Green Bay names Gió Restaurant, Palm Bistro and Coral Dining & Bar on its Cua Can coast. Gió focuses on Vietnamese and Asian cooking; Coral gives a beachside sunset setting. Palm Bistro’s published seafood barbecue programme runs Wednesday and Saturday, 18:00–21:00. Choose the outlet that fits the meal rather than arriving with only the resort brand. Enquiries are on 0297 390 0004 or reservation@greenbayphuquocresort.com; ask about a non-resident table and the date’s programme. A river stop followed by an arranged coastal meal is a workable two-part outing, but the restaurant is a separate destination and reservation. Its pool and other resort activities are not automatically included.
