A visit to the chosen shoreline
Choose Gành Dầu for a cape-and-village outing with a meal.
Beach guide · Northwest coast
At Gành Dầu, look at the boats before looking for a sunbed. Fishing craft sit close to the shore, rocks break up the sand and the village carries on behind the waterfront. On a clear day, Cambodia appears across the water. Our favourite reason to make this northern journey is simpler than a distant view: spend time beside the cape, then settle down to a seafood lunch.

Choose Gành Dầu for a cape-and-village outing with a meal. Allow roughly two to three hours at the coast and restaurant, plus your road journey; this is our suggested visit length. For a full day of swimming and loungers, choose an identified beachfront venue separately.
Gành Dầu village, Gành Dầu Cape and the Bãi Dài resort frontage are different destinations. Save the actual restaurant or shore stop.

What it really feels like
The boats, wooded backdrop and broken sandy edges are the details that give Gành Dầu its character in our original beach and nature articles.
It is not one long, uniform strip. A short stretch may invite a shoreline stroll, while the next is rockier or used by boats. Take time over the near view: fishing gear, the changing waterline and the way the village meets the sea. The appeal survives a hazy horizon. You do not need a clear photograph of Cambodia for the visit to be worthwhile, and you do not need to turn a working waterfront into a conventional resort afternoon.
“Gành Dầu” can describe a large part of a northern itinerary, so the name alone is a poor drop-off instruction. A hotel address in the wider area can put you somewhere quite different from the cape-side village. For this visit, choose the coastal stopping point and restaurant together. A restaurant host is also the useful person to ask about the short walk from parking to the shore and any steps. We suggest the village before or around lunch, leaving time to sit rather than arriving for a photograph and immediately retracing the road.
Gành Dầu sits at the island’s northwestern corner, giving the coast its cross-water outlook. In clear conditions, land across the border can be visible; cloud, rain and haze change the experience. The practical photographic choice is a spot where you can stand comfortably on land with the near shore in the frame. Boats, rocks and the village make a more recognisable Gành Dầu picture than an empty distant horizon. A late afternoon can bring softer light, but the direction you face at an individual table or rocky edge matters more than a promise that every address has the same sunset.
The village’s landing places are part of its working life. Keep the short walk to a usable section of shore, leave room for boat movements and use the sand rather than climbing wet rocks for a better angle. If swimming is the main reason for the trip, arrange a receiving beach property with the facilities your group needs. That is a different purchase from lunch at a village restaurant. Do not infer a marked swimming zone, changing room or supervised water from an attractive cape photograph. Gành Dầu is already a satisfying stop without spending the whole visit in the water.
Biên Hải Quán is a useful village-side anchor at Tổ 1, ấp Gành Dầu; its published phone is 0916 745 423. The operator lists steamed crab, lemongrass-steamed squid, fried pomfret and seafood hotpot, with contact-for-price listings rather than a fixed current seafood tariff. For a shared lunch, we would choose a steamed dish, a fish dish and rice before adding more shellfish. Agree the weighed quantity and cooking charge for the items you select. This keeps the meal centred on eating beside this particular coast, rather than chasing the biggest tank or the longest menu.

Northwest tip of Phu Quoc, Ganh Dau community and cape
From Dương Đông, follow the northwest road corridor through Cửa Cạn toward Gành Dầu. For a village meal, use Biên Hải Quán, Tổ 1, ấp Gành Dầu, rather than a general district pin. Drivers starting at Bãi Dài or Grand World should still take you to the village receiving point; a resort gate is not the cape. Arrange a return car if you are staying for dinner.

FAQ
A cape view, fishing-village shoreline and seafood meal. It suits a slower northern outing better than a search for one continuous serviced bathing beach.
In clear weather, land across the water can be visible. Haze changes the view, so choose a coastal meal and short walk that you will enjoy either way.
Biên Hải Quán is a named option in the village. Its menu lists squid, fish, crab and hotpot; the agreed order and weighed quantity determine the bill.
No. The village/cape outing and Bãi Dài’s resort frontage have different arrival points. Use the full restaurant or property name with the driver.
Yes. We suggest the village and coast in daylight, then a separate drive to Grand World for its evening setting. A full Safari or VinWonders day leaves less room for this outing.
No. A restaurant meal does not include another property’s pool or loungers. Book the receiving property if those facilities are central to your day.
