For a scooter, inspect the brakes, tyres, lights, indicators and general condition before accepting it. Record existing marks and the agreed fuel level. Choose a machine that the rider can use confidently rather than the cheapest one on the list. A car needs the same clarity on condition, documents, fuel and what happens if there is a fault. Bags, a stroller or other equipment can change which car is suitable even when the passenger count is modest.
Read the rental period, delivery and collection arrangement, deposit method, return fuel requirement and responsibility for damage. Do not assume a calendar day, a twenty-four-hour period and an airport collection all mean the same thing. Ask how support works if the vehicle develops a problem away from the hotel. Keep the agreement understandable before leaving. For a driver service, compare a different scope: the region, stops, waiting, passenger load and finish. A driven day is not merely a self-drive rental with an unlimited person added. When the family wants one regional outing, a clear driver quote may be more useful than managing a rental handover and return. The useful comparison is the cost and responsibility of the day you will actually use, including the parts that do not appear in a photograph of the vehicle.
