Bãi Đất Đỏ tells a story of southern Phu Quoc changing around its waterfront. Boat-trip addresses sit beside plans for a public beach, a promenade and a new hotel district. For a visitor, those are different things: a place to meet a boat, a public-space project and future accommodation should not be read as one ready-made beach day.
Use the exact receiving point for a booked boat or venue in the Đất Đỏ area. For an independent beach afternoon, this page cannot yet give a dependable public entrance or facilities package. Sao and Khem have separate beach-and-meal guides; Sunset Town serves a different waterfront evening.
Visitor-access note: an announced public-beach project is not a current opening notice. No blanket closure of the whole locality is claimed.

What it really feels like
Bãi Đất Đỏ belongs to the An Thới mainland setting.
Its name appears in the boating side of the south as well as in redevelopment news. Our original island-activity article mentions private-charter operators around Đất Đỏ and An Thới; that is useful context for an address, rather than a present-day boarding instruction. The current shore cannot be understood from a single resort rendering or an old empty-sand photograph. First decide whether you are coming for a booked boat, a named venue or an independent beach stop.
For a boat booking, the useful information is the receiving person, meeting point and the last part of the journey from the vehicle to the vessel. Keep these with the booking rather than asking a driver to search for any harbour with the same locality name. Ask where the same trip returns, too: a one-way drop-off and a pickup later may be different arrangements. This is a mainland meeting-point question. It should not be confused with reaching a beach on Hòn Thơm, which is an island destination in its own right.
A 16 November 2024 announcement described the launch of a public-beach and coastal-walk project at Đất Đỏ, with management intended for An Thới after completion. Later, Sun Group reported the 28 January 2026 groundbreaking of the Bãi Đất Đỏ mixed-use development linked to APEC 2027. Its hotel plans are future accommodation, not a list of businesses where a visitor can eat or change today. The earlier public-space announcement is important context, but neither announcement establishes that a particular promenade, shower or swimming section is currently receiving visitors.
At present, we do not have a current public receiving point to recommend for an independent Đất Đỏ beach afternoon. Keep that optional stop out of a fixed itinerary unless a responsible local host supplies the actual approach and what is available. The missing entrance does not establish that the whole locality is closed. It means an open beach day should not be inferred from the project name, a road toward the sea or access granted for a separate booked service.
For time on sand and a proper meal, compare Sao and Khem using their own receiving venues. For a southern island trip, follow the booked vessel’s programme and meeting point. For a waterfront evening, choose the actual Sunset Town venue or performance. Those choices have different timings and entrances. A good southern day does not need an extra unlocated beach stop squeezed between them. Keep Đất Đỏ as useful orientation when it appears in the address, and let the activity you actually booked shape the journey.

An Thới, southern Phu Quoc; mainland waterfront
Travel toward An Thới with the full booked venue or boat-meeting name, the date and a contact number. If the confirmation only says “Bãi Đất Đỏ,” ask the operator for the road drop-off and the final walk or transfer to its vessel. There is no verified independent public beach-gate pin supplied here; do not substitute a construction or service entrance.

FAQ
It is part of the An Thới mainland waterfront context. A Đất Đỏ boat address is not a beach on Hòn Thơm or a general entrance for all southern attractions.
No. The November 2024 announcement concerned launching the project. A present public entrance and operating facilities are still needed for a dependable independent visit.
The exact meeting-point name or pin supplied by the operator, the receiving contact and the time. Keep the return point with it rather than relying on the broad locality name.
An announced hotel is not an operating day-use offer. Use a named currently receiving venue for any meal, shower, lounger or pool arrangement.
Sao and Khem have separate guides for that purpose. Choose the actual receiving place and allow time for the meal instead of adding several similar bay stops.
No. We have not established a blanket closure. Keep a booked venue’s access separate from an unverified independent shore visit.
