PHU QUOC FOOD AND DRINK
At Sunset Town, the evening has a visible turning point. The light softens on the terraces, people drift toward the waterfront and a table becomes somewhere to stay rather than somewhere to eat quickly. That is the reason to have dinner here. Choose the food with as much care as the photograph: a gastropub meal, a market walk and a show package are three different evenings.

Load more venuesChoose a seated restaurant for dinner and conversation, VUI-Fest for a gradual snack walk, or a clearly dated dinner-show product. Sun Bavaria’s 13 October announcement expects its new buffet and Symphony of the Sea Season 3 package on 10 November 2026. Keep that future offer separate from an ordinary restaurant booking.
Reviewed:
Sunset Town’s terraces and waterfront buildings turn an evening meal into a particular kind of outing. You can choose it for a date, a family evening or a table with friends and still care about what arrives on the plate. There is a useful distinction here: sometimes the view is a large part of what you are buying. Enjoy that deliberately rather than expecting every scenic frontage to be the same kind of seafood kitchen.
A seated restaurant suits a full meal and a conversation that takes time. A drinks stop can be shorter and leave dinner elsewhere. A market walk lets everyone buy small things at different moments. Pick one as the centre of the evening, then add the other stops lightly. Trying to have a full restaurant dinner, a large market tasting and a fixed show in the same tight window usually makes each one feel hurried.
For a table request, name the setting that matters: terrace or indoors, a quieter conversation or the energy of the waterfront. A sea-view headline does not choose an exact seat. If the evening is for someone’s birthday, give that information with the booking so the restaurant can explain the meal and table it is actually offering. The occasion should help choose the kitchen, not just add a decoration to an otherwise unsuitable dinner.
Sun Bavaria GastroPub opened on the Sunset Town waterfront in November 2024. The red building and beer-hall style make it one of the area’s recognisable dining references. Its published food concept includes German-style sausage, pork knuckle and grilled preparations alongside seafood and Sun KraftBeer. That gives a useful alternative when the table wants a shared, hearty meal rather than another bowl or a delicate tasting menu.
There is an important dated change for autumn 2026. Sun World’s 13 October announcement expects the new nearly-100-dish buffet and Symphony of the Sea Season 3 to launch together on 10 November. That is a future package at the time of this review. If choosing the evening for the performance, use the bookable product for your date and read its seating and meal inclusions. An older à la carte description does not describe every new buffet ticket.
For the food-led version of the outing, think about the whole table. A substantial shared meat dish, something lighter and the drinks people actually want can be more balanced than ordering several rich platters. Beer is part of the venue’s identity, not a requirement for everyone at the table. A group with non-drinkers can still choose the cooking and the setting as long as the purchased offer suits them.
A food walk has a different rhythm from dinner at a table. Start with one savoury snack, then a drink or dessert when something catches your attention. A grilled bite, a small sweet and a fruit drink can each be part of the evening without becoming three full meals. The pleasure is choosing as you walk, leaving enough appetite and a free hand for the next stop.
At a seafood counter, distinguish a per-piece snack from a weight-priced meal. A grilled shellfish order by the piece can be a small stop; a crab or whole fish weighed for cooking is a sit-down dinner decision. If the latter is what you want, choose the quantity and preparation together and give it time. The market atmosphere does not make those two transactions the same size of purchase.
For a family, let one person choose a snack round before everyone adds another order. It makes sharing easier and avoids carrying several cooling plates while searching for a place to stop. After a restaurant dinner, a small dessert can be enough reason to walk the market. You do not need to buy another seafood feast to feel that you have experienced the waterfront evening.
Use the first round to learn the size of a snack. One portion may be enough for two people to taste before moving on; another is intended as somebody’s whole meal. Ask which it is rather than ordering one for every person automatically. A sweet drink also changes how much dessert the table wants. The food walk becomes more varied when the portions are deliberate, leaving the waterfront stroll to carry the evening rather than turning it into a search for somewhere to put leftover plates.
Kiss of the Sea, the waterfront Symphony production and a restaurant’s own entertainment are different programmes. A dinner package needs to name which one it includes. A terrace can have an open sky view yet miss important parts of a stage performance. Choose the product for the production you want rather than assuming every restaurant beside Kiss Bridge supplies the same view and ticket.
For a separate show ticket, keep dinner earlier and save the actual entrance. An editorial allowance of about half an hour between finishing a meal and the ticket’s admission time can be a useful start if you still need to walk and find the gate. Add more for a slow-moving group. The aim is to enjoy the final dish without watching the clock through every mouthful.
Use the restaurant name and entrance when sharing a meeting point, then a separate pickup location for the journey home if necessary. Sunset Town has terraces, slopes and several waterfront approaches. A pin on a photogenic stairway can be a nice walking stop and a poor place to expect a car. Keeping the car access and the walking part distinct makes the evening easier without turning it into a minute-by-minute itinerary.
When the food you want is a quick bowl, fish porridge or an ordinary rice meal, An Thới’s working town belongs in the plan. Khem offers a beach-and-restaurant lunch with its own resort kitchens. Sunset Town is strongest when the setting and the evening are part of the purchase. Those distinctions let you spend on the occasion you want and keep other meals simple.
A good southern day can start with breakfast in town, spend the afternoon elsewhere and finish with one chosen waterfront dinner. Or it can end after a beach lunch without adding a late show. Keep the food with the day you actually want. A view-led dinner is enjoyable when chosen freely, not when it becomes an obligation to buy every attraction beside it.
For a food-and-view evening, one full dinner and one small later stop are often enough. A meal at the chosen restaurant can be followed by a dessert walk; a substantial market round can be followed by a drink. Let the second stop add a new part of the evening instead of repeating the same meal. That gives the setting time to matter and leaves the next day’s breakfast as something to look forward to.
Choose a restaurant for a full meal and time at one table. Choose VUI-Fest for small purchases, a walk and dessert; a weighed seafood feast is a separate dinner-sized order.
A hearty food-and-beer format: German-style sausage and pork knuckle, grilled dishes and seafood, alongside Sun KraftBeer. Select the actual à la carte or buffet offer for your date.
The 13 October 2026 Sun World announcement expects 10 November 2026 for the new buffet and Symphony Season 3 launch. It is a dated future announcement, not a promise of a show today.
No. A table, a sky view and admission to a specific production are different things. The purchased dinner-show product must explicitly name its inclusions.
Use An Thới’s working-town breakfast scene for a bowl, porridge or bánh mì. It serves a different need from a Sunset Town terrace dinner.
A suggested half-hour before the ticket’s admission time is a starting allowance for walking and finding the gate; add the actual distance and your group’s pace.
