PHU QUOC TRANSPORT GUIDE

An Thới Port Pickups: Harbour, Cable Station & Onward Rides

In the south, ‘An Thới’ can mean the working town, a boat meeting point or the cable-car departure at Sunset Town. Naming the area is a start. Naming the actual entrance is what gets the right vehicle to you.

An Thoi harbour and cable-car lines from above. This overview does not identify your boarding pier.

Use the operator’s actual pier or road meeting pin. Do not replace it with the cable station just because both are in An Thới, and do not send a Bãi Vòng ferry driver to the southern harbour. For a tour return, establish whether the package already includes your final hotel ride.

LIVE JOURNEY CONDITIONS

Let today’s conditions refine the journey

Island weather helps you plan the pickup and luggage handoff, but it does not confirm ferry operations.

A practical decision

Name the pier, not just the town

The boarding operator’s meeting instruction takes precedence over a broad harbour search result.

Keep the named pier, meeting pin and contact number with your boat booking. An island tour may collect at the hotel, an office or the harbour; those are different starts to the same advertised excursion. If the operator already has a hotel-transfer list, join that arrangement rather than travelling independently to a southern pin and expecting the guide to find you there.

For a separately booked car, send the road-accessible meeting point and the approximate time you will be ready ashore. Ask the boat crew which exit or landmark the driver should use. A car cannot collect you from an offshore map pin or the end of a gangway. If the landing changes during the day, forward the new instruction instead of asking a driver to search the whole harbour area.

Boat harbour, cable station and Bãi Vòng are different

Use the transport you have booked to establish which arrival you actually have.

Sun World identifies its cable-car departure at An Thới in the Sunset Town area. A boat programme may instead specify An Thới harbour, as the southern operator programme consulted for this guide does. The cable terminal is not a substitute boat meeting point. Likewise, Phú Quốc Express identifies Bãi Vòng for its Hà Tiên and Rạch Giá services: a mainland ferry arrival is not automatically an An Thới arrival.

This distinction becomes particularly important on boat-and-cable combinations. You may board a boat at one point and finish the cable journey at another. Read the return leg of the actual programme before leaving a scooter or booking a waiting car at the morning start. If the supplier includes the transfer between those points, let it provide that leg rather than paying a second car to reproduce it.

Keep the southern last leg genuinely southern

Khem, the An Thới town streets and Sunset Town are nearby area choices, not one interchangeable drop-off.

A Khem hotel needs its reception entrance. A Sunset Town stay may need the upper vehicle road rather than a waterfront square. A room in the working town has another address again. Send the hotel pin to the driver and include the baggage count if this is a hotel-change day. Do not convert a short map separation into a promise of an easy walk with suitcases, wet bags or children after a sea day.

If staying locally, a southern meal can make a sensible end before returning to the hotel. If staying in Dương Đông or farther north, the long road ride is still ahead. Decide whether to eat in the south and depart later or go directly back. An unplanned late meal and an evening show change a simple tour return into a different vehicle schedule; put that choice in the booking while there is time to arrange it.

Do you already have a road transfer?

Check the package’s pickup area and final drop-off before booking a separate car.

An included central-hotel transfer may be enough if you are returning to the same property. It may not include a northern hotel, a new accommodation or a later departure after a show. Tell the operator when your return differs from the room address used for the morning pickup. The useful question is not whether the tour has a bus, but whether its included ride completes your own day.

If taking a private car separately, agree where responsibility passes from the boat team to the driver. Send a ready-to-meet message once everyone is off the vessel with the bags. Avoid booking the car for the final advertised activity time: equipment return, washing off, collecting possessions and disembarking all happen around the end of an excursion. A waiting allowance should be understood rather than silently consumed.

Plan for wet equipment and dry luggage

A transfer after a boat trip can need a different luggage arrangement from a morning ride to the harbour.

Keep phones, booking details, medicine and documents in the carry-on you control. Pack wet towels and swimwear separately before loading the return vehicle. If the day also includes moving accommodation, establish where the large cases will remain while you are on the water. A boat-tour luggage assumption and a private-car boot arrangement should not be left to two separate providers to discover after arrival.

For passengers who need assistance, talk through the actual shore-to-vehicle section. The car’s size alone says nothing about steps off the boat, the surface at the meeting point or whether a wheelchair user can transfer. Keep both the boat contact and driver contact available. Someone needing hands-on help should have that agreed as a service, not be expected to solve it through a general promise that people will help at the pier.

The return message should name the finish

A precise final destination prevents the wrong hotel or an unwanted return to the morning start.

Keep one message with the landing or terminal, road pickup pin, passenger count, bag count, final hotel and agreed price or included-transfer reference. Add whether you want a direct return or a stop for dinner. A different final hotel needs its actual entrance, even if it is in the same broad resort area as the original property.

If the sea programme changes, update the road driver before the original meeting time. A combination that returns by cable car rather than boat can change the pickup location as well as the hour. After loading, count bags before leaving the southern area; a missing item becomes harder to recover once the car is halfway to Grand World. The purpose of this guide is that road handover, not choosing a boat tour or selling an attraction ticket.

Frequently asked questions

Questions worth resolving before choosing the vehicle.

Is the An Thới cable station the boat harbour?

They are different meeting instructions. The cable station serves the Hòn Thơm cable journey from Sunset Town; your boat operator supplies its own pier or collection point. Use the actual booking pin rather than substituting one for the other.

Should a Rạch Giá ferry pickup be booked here?

Use the arrival port on the carrier ticket. Phú Quốc Express identifies Bãi Vòng for its Rạch Giá arrival, so that road transfer belongs at Bãi Vòng rather than a generic An Thới pin.

Can a boat-and-cable day finish somewhere different?

Yes. Read the final leg of your actual programme and whether a road connection is included. Do not leave a vehicle at the morning harbour unless you know how you will return to it.

Can I stay in Sunset Town after the tour?

Arrange the change with the operator before the return is organised. You may give up an included hotel transfer or need a separate later car. Name the evening pickup entrance and final hotel instead of assuming the original bus waits.

Where should my suitcases go during a boat tour?

Arrange storage or carriage with the actual provider or accommodation before changing hotels that day. A normal excursion booking does not establish secure storage for every case. Keep documents and essential items in the carry-on you control.

Can I use the northern public routes for every southern pier?

No. Routes serving the airport or Bãi Vòng do not establish a stop at your An Thới boat pier. Look up the actual line and entrance; use the tour transfer or a direct car for a pier outside it.
